MADRID NOVIAS concludes with some favourable results
MADRID NOVIAS, the International Bridal Fashion Exhibition, an event organised by IFEMA, concluded its eighth edition with some favourable results. Throughout the four-day duration of this wedding fashion fair, which is considered to be one of the most important in Europe, 132 companies and brands brought together the best collections and ideas in bridal wear, bridegroom attire, formal attire and First Communion outfits for the Spring 2011 Season. A total of 3,642 trade visitors from both Spain and abroad attended the fair. The collections of 28 designers were presented at the CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Fashion Show on 6th and 7th May to great critical and public acclaim. The First Communion Fashion Parade, one of the new features at this edition that witnessed the participation of companies such as Hortensia Maeso for Rubio Kids, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Miquel Suay and Barcarola, was also warmly received. In general terms, the companies and brands that took part at the fair reported favourable results, having fulfilled their objectives, effectively extending their client portfolios and establishing contact with potential buyers. The CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Fashion Show confirmed the excellent climate that currently exists within the Spanish wedding fashion world. Joaquim Verdú, Rubén Perlotti, Javier Arnaiz and Marcos Marrero-María Díaz (M&M), all of whom took part at the fair for the first time, rated their debuts at the forum very highly, alongside other figures of considerable renown such as Hannibal Laguna, Elio Bernhayer, Devota & Lomba, Duyos and Novissima, designers and companies who have presented their ideas in Madrid on previous occasions. In this respect, we might mention Hannibal Laguna. According to this prestigious designer, "CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS is a unique forum for Spanish design, one where the aesthetic ideas on show range from the most conventional to the most chic, based on a sense of diversity that clients value and enjoy". As far as the attendance of international buyers is concerned, Laguna highlighted the strong presence of foreign professionals in Madrid, stating that "it is extremely common to hear professionals speaking other languages in the corridors at MADRID NOVIAS". "In short", he concluded, "the collections at Madrid Novias provide the very best point of reference regarding creative design within the field of wedding fashion". Moises Amselem, from Novíssima, stated that "this fair has come on in leaps and bounds edition after edition and we must continue to progress in the same direction in order to establish MADRID NOVIAS as the most important wedding fashion event in Spain". MADRID NOVIAS also brought together an outstanding selection of party-wear companies, including names such as Montesinos, Ana Torres, María Coca, Marga Sánchez, Matilde Cano, Mercedes Alonso and Zeduka, among others. The designer, Ana Torres, offered an extremely positive evaluation of the fair. "The organisation was perfect; the media impact at both a national and international level was very significant and, above all, we did good business."More IFEMA - Feria de Madrid News...More Fashion News - Spain...12
